PATA’s district-level Local Forums are designed to disseminate paediatric HIV learning to community level, focusing on direct implementation of high-quality, holistic and integrated HIV services to children living with HIV, their families and communities. Based on the PATA model of collaborative learning and the creation of ‘communities of practice’, PATA Local Forums focus on networking and teamwork between 4-5 health facility teams from one district or community. Following PATA’s Continental Summit/ Regional Forum format of didactic training and work-shopping, Local Forums also conclude with creation of a PATA Team Grid, outlining quality improvement deliverables for each of the teams represented.
PATA holds 10 Local Forums in the years following its Continental Summits and 5 Local Forums in the years following its Regional Forums.
